Michael Rivera has over 23 years of experience in commercial banking and capital markets, including 16 years at Wells Fargo Bank and 7 years at large regional banks. He is a partner at Tier 1 Capital Partners and co-founder of 247 Capital Advisors, a firm specializing in complex middle-market consulting, asset management, and asset dispositions.
Michael Rivera has over 23 years of experience in commercial banking and capital markets, including 16 years at Wells Fargo Bank and 7 years at large regional banks. He is a partner at Tier 1 Capital Partners and co-founder of 247 Capital Advisors, a firm specializing in complex middle-market consulting, asset management, and asset dispositions.
Michael previously served as Co-Head of Asset Dispositions at Flagstar Bank and held senior positions at Signature Bank and Bank of the West (now BMO). He has led national divisions in commercial real estate, affordable housing finance, and mid-market lending. He has also acted as Managing Director within Corporate and Commercial Banking.
Michael has led and launched commercial lending businesses across the U.S. and has built deep relationships with debt, equity, and sponsors in major markets including the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York City. He has been responsible for managing tens of billions in loan assets and deposits, including a notable $2.5 billion syndication where he served as joint lead arranger.
His areas of expertise include loan originations, underwriting, asset management, portfolio strategy, and asset dispositions. Michael has led large-scale initiatives such as technology implementations, policy development, and process improvements across financial institutions.
Michael has served on several boards for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. He has also contributed to strategic leadership initiatives, including serving on the FINTECH steering committee at a major regional bank.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis, and a Master’s certification in commercial banking from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. Originally from Sacramento, California, Michael continues to reside there today.
